June 15th - 17th - Eaglequest XXVI - Scale model convention - Grapevine, TX.

Eaglequest XXVI is a scale model convention set for June 15- 17.  It's sponsored by Squadron models and will be at the Embassy Suites- DFW Airport North at 2401 Bass Pro Drive, Grapevine, TX 76051.  There is a $55 package that gets a person into clinics, awards presentations and other activities during the three days; but it is free to just go see the models.


June 21st - 24th -  42nd Annual MVPA Convention - Cleveland, OH

The MVPA’s 42nd annual Convention in 2017 will be held in Cleveland, Ohio at the I-X Center, a former bomber and tank plant. The Ohio Motorpool has worked tirelessly to make this a one-of-a-kind event that promises to be an outstanding and memorable affair on June 21-24, 2017. The swap meet will offer hundreds of vendors, with thousands of parts, paint, canvas, manuals and military memorabilia. Thursday (6/22) the event opens to the public. Parking for the event will be $10 per day on site, however, the MVPA is offering an early 4-day parking pass for only $20. After the event opens to the public there will be no registrations taken by the MVPA, and NO parking passes will be sold on site. At that time everyone who is NOT registered will have to pay and enter as public. To avoid the increase REGISTER NOW!


June 24th -  Funeral for George A Coke - USS Oklahoma - Pearl Harbor - Arlington, TX  

Saturday June 24th - 1 PM service at First United Methodist Church - 313 N. Center St.  Graveside service to follow at Parkdale Cemetery - 701 S. Mary St. 

This is not necessarily a vehicle event.  George A. Coke was killed at the attack on Pearl Harbor, December 7, 1941 while serving on the USS Oklahoma.  After the boat capsized and sank a rescue turned into a recovery mission.  George's body was not identified along with numerous other sailors on the ship who were buried in a mass grave at the Punchbowl Military Cemetery in Hawaii.  Just recently his remains were identified by DNA and he will now be buried next to his parents in the old downtown Arlington Cemetery.  



July 4th 
-  4th of July parades - Burleson, TX. and other locations.  

Tuesday this year. Celebrate our nation's 241st birthday with your green machine.  Details to come.  We are again participating in the City of Burleson parade with annual business meeting with lunch after the parade. Other opportunities available.


July 8th 
-  Crowley's Celebration of Freedom - Crowley, TX.    

Saturday July 8th at Bicentennial Park.  Parade starts at 10 AM from Crowley High School.  Park display event from 4 PM to 10 PM.  Fireworks after dark.



July 9th -  Special Kay Day - Open House - Vintage Flying Museum - Ft. Worth, TX.      

Sunday, July 9th at the Vintage Flying Museum located at Meacham Field, Fort Worth.  B-26 Special Invader will run engines for the first time since undergoing a full restoration 6 years ago.  Engines start at 0930 AM.  Lunch is $5.  Other planes on display. 



SEPTEMBER 2nd - CAF DFW Warbirds on Parade - Lancaster, TX.    

Commerative Air Force -DFW wing at the Lancaster Airport.  Planes and vehicles on display.



OCTOBER 7-8th - CAF Wings Over Dallas - Dallas, TX.    

Commerative Air Force HQ at Dallas Executive Airport on Hwy 67.  2 day Air show.  Vehicle display area.


OCTOBER 21st - Vintage Flying Museum - Hangar Dance Meacham Field.   - Ft. Worth, TX.    

The annual Big Band Hangar Dance.  Step back in time.  Come see the B-17 Now called Madras Maiden, back in the hangar.  Orchestra plays big band tunes.  This event is like walking back in time.  Some vehicles can be displayed.



NOVEMBER 9-11th - SkyBall XV - DFW Airport  

This years SkyBall is dedicated to all Veterans from all conflicts.  SkyBall is a huge fundraiser for Military Veteran's programs and their families.  Sponsored by American Airlines.   Vehicles needed for display.  Details to come. 


NOVEMBER 11th - Veteran's Day Parade - Fort Worth, TX.  

This years Veteran's Day parade will be held in downtown Fort Worth.  Veteran's Day is on a Saturday this year.  Vehicles needed for the parade.  We usually convoy to the stockyards afterward for lunch.  Details to come.
